IMHO, this is a rare photograph of YM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj with a group of silat worriors.
Tunku would usually being photographed with his family members, politicians or with some taicoons from the chinese bussines community (based on history). Though, sadly it was not highlighted during the recent 50th Merdeka Day Celebration, at least we know that there is a photograph of the 1st Malaya Chief Minister with the Malay silatmen.
Will it give moral boost to the malay silat practioners nationwide? I dont know, maybe 'yes' to some but not significant to the others.
Anyway, by judging from the ala
The Beatle fashion, worn by the 'bercekak pinggang' man (on Tunku's left), and by looking at the malay photographer's
type of camera (on Tunku's right), this classic photograph would come from the 60s, perhaps Tunku was lobbying about the birth of a new nation called Malaysia. (saluting Brunei Darulsalam for the wise decision)
Lastly, forgive me if this is not the first photograph of Tunku with the silatmen. If beyond my knowledge there is other classic photograph like this, just (inform) mail me and I'll consider to buy it with a reasonable price.
And I would appreciate if somebody can provide me with the correct information about this particular photo of Tunku.
